The last batch of steel structures for the accessory building of Washington State Convention Center in the USA by ZPMC was shipped to Seattle from Shanghai at the early morning of August 21st, indicating the Company completing the first project of foreign construction steel structures successfully. 

It was another successful cooperation between ZPMC and American Bridge, after the San Francisco-Auckland New Bay Bridge, High Roller in Las Vegas of USA and Queensferry Crossing of UK. The Company was responsible for the manufacturing and transportation of all steel structures of about 20,000t of the project, of which the materials, manufacturing and acceptance should meet the requirements of USA steel structure manufacturing and acceptance standards. Particularly, the structural welding should meet the requirements of American Welding Society (AWS) D1.8 Welding Codes, extremely strict requirements on the design, welding process and manufacturing management to meet the high anti-seismic requirements. 

The Company had completed manufacturing the last batch of steel structures but failed to ship as scheduled due to the impact of Covid-19. Both parties decided the related shipping issues at the end of last July after the mutual effort. Meanwhile, the last batch of steel structures was prepared for the shipment after the members of the Project Department working hard for a week in spite of the hot weather and lack of manpower. So far, 32,600 pieces of steel structures on 6 vessels have been shipped. 

The building in Seattle of Washington State, consisting of two stories on the ground and 14 stories under the ground with the total area of about 24,000m2, will be a new local landmark of Washington after the completion.
