Recently, the world's first deep-sea wind-solar-aquaculture (WSA) floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) infrastructure project constructed by ZPMC was settled and installed and was towed to the waters of the offshore wind farm in Nanri Island, Putian, Fujian Province.

The FOWT infrastructure project is a science and technology project concerning a semi-submersible infrastructure platform integrating marine ranch and photovoltaic power generation, including aquaculture, wind power generation, photovoltaic power generation and other equipment and facilities. With a water depth of about 35 m and the floating model, the wind turbine infrastructure project adopts a three-column semi-submersible platform with a column side length of about 70 m, a total height of 24 m, a design draught of 14 m and a weight of more than 5,000 t, which is independently manufactured, designed, constructed, and tested and adjusted by ZPMC. Since the implementation of the project, the project team under Zhenhua Heavy Equipment has been dedicated to optimizing the design model for about 10 months, exploring an efficient and innovative construction model for the FOWT project.

The project applies wind turbines with a unit capacity of 4 MW, which can generate 96,000 kWh of electricity per day when operating at full capacity for 24 hours, which is equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of 42,500 people. The FOWT infrastructure project integrates photovoltaic power generation and aquaculture, reducing 8,000 t of carbon dioxide emissions, 40 t of sulfur dioxide emissions and 24 t of nitrogen dioxide emissions annually, will bring significant green economic benefits, serve as an exemplary domestic WSA FOWT infrastructure project, fill the industry gaps in the floating offshore wind power field and facilitate the integrated development of the marine economy to advance to the deep sea.
