Changshi
No. 18, a 4,500m3/h self--propelled cutter suction dredger by ZPMC
for Changjiang Dredging Co., Ltd., returned to Qidong Marine Engineering Co.,
Ltd. after the first successful offshore trial voyage on April 23rd.
The
Dredger is of a single body of the wholly welded steel structure with the total
length of 139.54m, molded width of 28m, molded depth of 9m, maximum excavation
depth of 35m and the travel speed of 12kn, which can be used for dredging the
clay, dense sand, strong and weak weathered rocks. The Dredger completed
different functional tests during the 3-day offshore test, including the
communication and navigation test, anchoring test, durability test, swing test,
steering test and emergent stop and astern.
Qidong
Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. took temperatures and confirmed the health green
codes of all the crew of the test voyage before they boarded. The measures were
taken after the boarding to prevent the possible outbreak of the pandemic,
including dining in appointed positions, taking temperatures twice every day
and regular disinfecting on living quarters. At the same time, all the crew was
required to wear masks in public areas. The possibly small number of the crew
was made, who were required to avoid cross operation and gathering as much as
possible.
Changshi
No. 18, after the delivery, will provide the equipment support for the Yangtze
River Economic Belt developing into a golden economic belt with the better
ecological environment, more convenient traffic, more coordinated economic
development and wider market. Meanwhile, the Dredger can also be used for the
emergent dredging in the middle and lower reaches as well as coastline and
islands construction.
