Recently, three members of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZPMC), Shanghai Port Machinery Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (Port Machinery Heavy Industries), Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Changxing Branch (ZPMC Changxing), and Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Qidong Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (ZPMC Marine Engineering), have been successfully recognized as “Green Factories.” This marks a significant milestone in the development of “Zero-Carbon ZPMC.”

Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZPMC) has earnestly implemented the national “Dual Carbon” strategy, accelerating the company’s green development and comprehensively advancing the construction of green factories. The three awarded members have fully carried out green transformation initiatives in line with the core principles of “low-carbon energy, resource efficiency, clean production, green products, and intensive land use,” achieving substantial results.

ZPMC Changxing focuses on the development of the national port machinery industrial cluster. It implements a full life-cycle carbon footprint management philosophy for its products and actively pursues green manufacturing and “carbon neutrality” objectives. Through multiple energy-saving renovation projects, rooftop distributed photovoltaic installations, and the establishment of smart factories and smart workshops, along with comprehensive in-depth treatment of environmental aspects such as water, air, noise, and solid waste, the branch has achieved industry-leading standards in green design, green production, and intelligent manufacturing.

ZPMC Marine Engineering leverages its expertise in marine engineering equipment to integrate green manufacturing concepts across the entire value chain of factory construction, production processes, and product R&D. It emphasizes resource recycling, clean production, green products, and intensive land use, while vigorously optimizing energy structures through the construction of distributed photovoltaic power stations and continuously deepening its green manufacturing system, setting a benchmark for green and low-carbon development in the shipbuilding industry.

Port Machinery Heavy Industries focuses on core supporting components for port machinery. It strengthens lean management, digital empowerment, and intelligent manufacturing while emphasizing the development of new energy products for port machinery. The company has implemented energy-saving renovation projects such as air compressor waste heat recovery, green lighting, and rooftop distributed photovoltaics, significantly increasing the share of clean energy such as solar power. It also employs IoT technology for intelligent monitoring of energy consumption, reducing pollutant emissions at the source and comprehensively promoting green and sustainable development.
