The automatic restructuring on traditional terminals was completed successfully on the vessel in operation on October 17th, the first in the world, indicating a breakthrough in the application of automatic container terminals of a new generation in China, presenting a China model for the construction of the global smart ports.
The automatic container terminal, in the north area of Tianjin Container Terminal, was restructured and upgraded from a traditional manual one, for whose yard, ZPMC provided 31 automatic RMGs and completed the remote control restructuring of the first batch of 4 STSs as the general contractor.
ZPMC developed independently the container operation integrated management system (ETMS) for the project, making the uniform operation management on the unmanned container trucks, automatic unlocking station and remote automatic STSs for the first time, making sure the efficient interaction of the equipment and the system. Meanwhile, the Company also developed the key anti-swing, anti-twist and container truck guidance techniques and adopted the high accuracy cloud pitting figure vessel scanning system of a new generation for the first time in the world, making sure the real time interaction of positions of the vessels, cargos and vehicles. The optimal route of mechanical movement was planned automatically and the containers on the landside of the STSs could be handled with clicking a button only, making the operation efficiency of STSs leading in the world. It was a new mode for the automatic upgrading of the container STSs.
The automatic terminal, after the restructuring and upgrading, could save the costs by more than 70%, reduce the general energy consumption for a single container by more than 20% and the general operation costs by more than 10%, compared with a newly-built automatic container terminal.
