Trial trip of 4,500t large rescue and salvage floating crane

ZPMC completed the 30-day trail voyage of Chuangli, a 4,500t large rescue and salvage floating crane, successfully on November 30th, which was manufactured for China Ocean Engineering Shanghai Company (“COES”).

The trial voyage consists of the voyage test, PMEA test, DP test, positioning system test and DP actual hoisting test with satisfactory results. The floating crane will be delivered after all tests.

The floating crane, with the full length of 198.80m and molded width of 46.60m, is intended for rescue and salvage for shipwrecks and immersed objects with the capacity of hoisting immersed objects of large tonnage and clearing obstacles rapidly for emergencies. The floating crane can be used for hoisting maritime structures, including large blocks, modules of platforms and jacket platform, and providing support for the platform operation and diving operation.

The stem is equipped with the living quarter and a helicopter area while the stern with a fixed 4,500t/wholly-swing 3,500t large crane for maritime engineering. The floating crane can be used for the operation in stipulated working conditions at 300m deep water and deeper areas with the application of DP-3 positioning system and 10-point anchoring positioning system. The S piping line is also reserved on the floating crane with the moon pool of 23.8mx9.8m for possible expansion of J piping, R piping and deep water installation. The floating crane can operate in the global maritime areas under stipulated working conditions.
