A new generation supporter for the dual 40f STS spreader was developed successfully by ZPMC and passed the test on the site of Port of Antwerp Belgium recently. With such supporter, the rapidest sea-side separation in the world can be realized, reducing the working time from 35s to 16s, thus, improving the loading and unloading efficiency greatly.

The loading and unloading efficiency remains the emphasis of the port operation at present and the port machinery is hoped to improve the working speed. ZPMC started to research and manufacture the new dual 40f STS spreader supporter last July, focusing on the sea-side supporter for improvement and innovation.

The sea-side supporter, as the main part of the dual 40f STS spreader, can be used to support the spreader for grabbing containers at sea side. It takes 35s for the sea side supporter of STS at the present market to extend to the maximum position and to return to the minimum position of the front beam at present. The development team made the improvement on the design principle of the supporter and formulated the hydraulic principle program, adding oil separation motor and independent valve group, making two independent sets of loops, thus, making sure the rapid simultaneous separation of two containers with unbalance load due to different weights.

The spreader has passed the test with zero load, full load and unbalance load on Port of Antwerp Belgium, of which the sound performance wins the reputation among users in Belgium.
