The traveling time from Puqian in Wenchang to Haikou will be reduced from 90 minutes to 20 minutes after the road opening to the traffic.

The Bridge is the largest sea-crossing one with highest anti-seismic intensity and largest basic design wind speed in China at present, which is also the first super-large bridge crossing the earthquake fault in China. The Bridge is 5.597km long totally, of which the sea-crossing bridge is 3.959km approximately, the main span 460m and the steel box girder approach span 580m with the tower of 151.8m in the height. The Bridge is designed as the standard 6-lane highway of class I in two directions with the designed traveling speed of 80km/h. The Company manufactured all 41 steel box girders for main span and 20 steel box girders for the approach span with the steel consumption of 22,000t totally.
