ZPMC made independent research and development on the unmanned aeration vehicle (UAV) tour inspection system, winning the business certificate by Civil Aviation Administration of China, indicating a new era for the tour inspection on terminals.

“The equipment on terminals had to stop for maintenance in the past, impacting the operation efficiency greatly. Moreover, there were inspection dead spaces and omissions in the previous manual inspection. Meanwhile, there is a certain potential safety risk for the workers in the manual inspection and maintenance on the equipment on terminals.” , said Li Wenjun, R&D engineer of UAV intelligent tour inspection system.

With the development of the port machinery to be large, of high speed, automatic and intelligent, the convenient and intelligent UAV tour inspection system is developed. The system consists of the front App(mobile terminal) and cloud service platform, of which the former has different functions of stable focusing, flight course mirroring and one-key tour inspection data uploading to optimize the planned flight course to improve the positioning accuracy of the automatic tour inspection. Meanwhile, the cloud service platform can generate the assessment report after the diagnosis on the basis of the uploaded images.

At present, the system has passed the certification for all functions, which can make automatic tour inspection on 40 upper areas of STSs within 2 hours, improving the efficiency by more than 8 times, compared with the previous manual inspection. The system can cover the blind areas of the manual inspection and improve the safety as well as reduce the stop time of terminals greatly.
