The trailing-suction hopper dredger is perfect for the waterway dredging, of which the pipe is put into the water with the end of the pipe-harrow end connected with the sea bed, pumping the slurry into the hopper with the vacuum effect of the pump. The dredger moves to the destination area to unload the slurry after the dredger is full. The dredger features flexibility, high efficiency and strong wind and wave resistance capacity.
Compared with previous dual-harrow, the single harrow mode of two dredgers is more efficient. Besides, the valve is equipped under the overflow cylinder of two dredgers, which can used to adjust the speed and level of the overflow water, reducing the interference of the overflow water on the water body in rivers and making slurry sinking to the river bed more quickly, thus, making sure more environment friendly and energy efficient construction.
Such two dredgers are another dredging equipment with the global advanced level by ZPMC for CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. after the 3,500m3/h cutter suction dredger and 10,000m3 trailing-suction hopper dredger. The dredgers are manufactured in the new cooperation mode, with Holland IHC making basic design and providing major dredging and electrical equipment, CCCC Mechanical and Electrical Bureau participating in manufacturing management with general contract, CCCC Marine Technology Research Center and ZPMC making detailed design and production design as well as ZPMC Qidong Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. manufacturing. Two dredgers launched on the same day, a major milestone before delivery, making a sound foundation for the further equipment debugging and success delivery.
Such two dredgers are driven by two motors and dual paddles, equipped with single slurry pump and single harrow, featuring self-propulsion in non-restricted waters, max. dredging depth of 30m and volume of hopper of 6,500m3. The dredgers are equipped with the dredging control system with the advanced level in the world, making sure the high automation. The dredgers are intended for dredging in ports and waterways at home and abroad, dredging along coast and hydraulic reclamation.
The two dredgers will be used to maintain the water depth of waterways at the Changjiang Estuary and improve the travel efficiency, providing support for Shanghai International Shipping Center and Shanghai Free Trade Zone. Meanwhile, such dredgers can also provide services for the ports and waterways of countries along the Belt and Road, contributing to the trade and local economic and social development of countries along Belt and Road.
