ZPMC Terminexus signed the agreement on the port equipment one-stop services with SIPG Shangdong Branch in the afternoon of May 30th. Present at the signing ceremony were Zhu Lianyu, Secretary and Chairman of ZPMC and Fang Huaijin, Vice President of SIPG.

ZPMC shall, in accordance with the requirements of the Agreement, supply Yangshan Phase IV Automatic Terminal with spare parts of port machinery, including STSs, RTGs, RMGs and AGVs, totally 885 items, realizing “zero inventory” of terminal spare parts, and making the first 4s service shop of spare parts in the port circle.

To solve the top problem of port machinery spare part management, the terminal users generally store quantities of spare parts and supplement necessary ones in the warehouse in proper time to make sure the equipment integrity and timely maintenance, resulting in large inventory of spare parts with high depreciation costs and human costs as well as occupying too much space, which is the common nut in the industry.

The requirement and consumption of the spare parts are basically equal to the new supplies every year, requiring stable spare parts service in the global market. As the leading corporation in the global port machinery, ZPMC is fully aware of the bright future of the spare part post service market on the port machinery. Therefore, ZPMC, on the basis of the overseas platform to the whole world and the professional service team of more than 1,000 members as well as the informatization, Internet of Things, capital operation and analysis and integration of the global port spare part resources, establishes the new management mode of port machinery spare part service in the globe, replacing the spare parts warehouse of terminals. It’s unnecessary for the terminal users to construct spare part warehouse for the new management mode can reduce the storage and logistics costs of terminals, simplify the purchasing procedures and improve the supply efficiency of spare parts as well. ZPMC, as a “private butler”, will provide timely and quality spare part management services, with which, the terminal users can replace spare parts as soon as possible, making sure the normal operation of the equipment on terminals without inventory of spare parts.  

This is the first spare part "Zero inventory” project in China by ZPMC and SIPG, after the cooperation in Yangshan Phase IV Automatic Terminal Project. It is the first in the service market on port machinery spare parts, a brand new business mode in the port industry, making a solid foundation for the global port machinery post market of ZPMC. In the future, ZPMC Terminexus will launch the on-line spare part purchasing data platform, to provide all customized spare part data for the terminal users, to simplify the purchasing procedures, to improve the supply efficiency and to reduce the purchasing costs, thus, solving the problem of spare part management for the users.

ZPMC put forward officially the idea of establishing the “Brand new spare part supply chain mode --- Terminexus VMI” at the terminal intelligent solution exchange forum on Nov 7th, 2017. ZPMC also established the subsidiary of ZPMC Terminexus to set up the global port machinery spare part supply platform and initialize the new management mode on the spare part service on the basis of the informatization and Internet of Things, thus, reducing the storage and logistics costs of terminals.
