The Full-process Intelligent Transformation project of Hairun Terminal at Xiamen Port is the first of its kind in the industry to realize the automation upgrade of all quay cranes, RTG cranes and the horizontal transportation system of existing mature terminals, which is of great significance to the development of ports worldwide. ZPMC is responsible for the intelligent transformation of 7 quay cranes and 22 gantry cranes. It overcomes the challenge of accurate positioning of “four-rope and two-drive” RTG cranes, a well-known challenge in the port sector, and develops the operating system iTOS for full-process intelligent terminal production via independent research and development in cooperation with Xiamen Port, realizing the intelligent loading and unloading of vessels and automated loading and unloading in yards.

In July 2020, Xiamen Port Holding Group took Hairun Terminal as a pilot and took the lead in launching the first full-process intelligent transformation and innovation project for the whole port area targeting traditional container terminals in China.
