Closure of the Largest Cable-stayed Bridge in West Africa

At 8:18 pm local time on November 8, Côte d'Ivoire, with the last steel girder section lifted into place, the largest cable-stayed bridge in West Africa, the Cocody Bridge in Côte d'Ivoire, was successfully closed, laying a solid foundation for the bridge to be officially opened to traffic in March next year.

The Cocody Bridge, located in Cocody Bay, Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, is designed as a bridge with opening groove type beams. The steel beam of the main bridge constructed by the company is 630m long and divided into 56 sections. The steel beam weighs about 7,500t and the auxiliary structure weighs about 1,500t. After the completion of the project, it will become the largest cable-stayed bridge in West Africa and a local landmark project.

At present, the bridge has officially entered the construction phase of the bridge deck system.
